After college, I attended a lot of networking events in NYC as part of my job search. Now that I have a job, I still like to share what I’ve learn about great events. I think you'll agree that the "right events get you the right jobs," so I hope this blog is helpful. Email me if you know about a cool networking even: I’m kbierce (at) gmail dot com. Although I can’t attend everything, I love learning more about what’s new. A calendar of NYC events is at the bottom of this page.
This blog is about how the right networking events can help you find the right job (or jobs!) for you.

NY Creative Interns One Year Bash
NY Creative Interns is a meetup group for creative college students and recent grads in New York City. They have thrown over 20 events that have been attended by more than 1,000 local creatives. The results? An inspired community of emerging creatives who have found inspiration, internships, jobs, mentors, and friends.
Go celebrate in style with our One Year Anniversary Bash.,
Details:
Where: The Wix Lounge, 10 W 17th St, 2nd floor
When: Wednesday, December 14, 2011
7-10 pm

Entertainment, Food and Drink:
This is going to be so. much.fun. DJ Frankenmack will be spinning great tunes, Galo Delgado of The Photobooth Project will be snapping shots of you looking snazzy, our host The Wix Lounge is providing an open bar and Sweet Loren‘s is providing delicious cookies and brownies as the finishing touches to our light refreshments.
Dress:
Cocktail attire. Think that fancy black dress you’ve been hoping you could bust out of the closet and for guys, ties and blazers abound. Use this as an excuse to play dress up and have fun. General rule of thumb, it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed.
Door Prizes:
Thanks to our friends (and sources of inspiration) at Holstee we are giving away Holstee Manifesto posters to three lucky party attendees.
Tickets:
Tickets can be purchased here and are our normal $5 for students and recent grads and $10 for professionals. We also have Super Supporter tickets for $50 and Micro-Sponsor tickets for $100. These are for folks who’d like to help NY Creative Interns continue to thrive. All the money from those tickets goes to programming costs and you get a permanent spot on our About Page. Be sure to print your tickets out and bring them with you.

Co-Founder of Net Impact Mark Albion webinar Dec. 9, 12 pm EDT (FREE)
I saw Mrim Boutla speak at the StartingBloc All Fellows' Summit in October 2011. In this webinar, co-founder of More than Money Careers and co-founder of Net Impact Mark Albion will be presenting how to create a career that makes a difference.
If you can't make it, do forward this to college students, young professionals, or those with midlife crises that need a kick in the pants. This is good stuff.
Happy learning!

Tools and guidelines to align your inner self to a meaningful, well-paying career

Three key steps: get clear. get connected. get hired.
In fact, you'll learn:
• How to overcome restrictive beliefs to discover the real you.
• How to realize simple steps to implement positive change almost immediately.
• How to create a career you are passionate about with significant social impact.
Dr. Mark Albion was a student, administrator and professor at Harvard for 20 years, after which he co-founded six organizations, including Net Impact.
Most recently, he served for one year in the Office of the President at Babson College. A New York Times Best Selling author, he has written seven books and made over 600 visits to business school campuses on five continents, for which BusinessWeek dubbed him, "the savior of business school souls."
In 2010, he co-found More Than Money Careers LLC, which helps university staff guide students interested in careers with social impact.
In 2011, Dr. Albion co-convened the Founders Circle at Net Impact to help students "work for good."
