First of all a Happy New Year! 

We are excited to kick off 2012 with our Steering Commitee elections.  We received a great response for the 5 open slots on the Steering Committee. After a careful selection process we have narrowed the applicant list to 7 amazing candidates, who we are delighted for you to meet at the WAM NY Annual General Meeting on January 18th.

6:15-6:45 Registration/Networking
6:45-7:15 Applicant Introductions. Each applicant will speak for 1 minute introducing themselves.
7:15: Vote
7:15-:8:30 Two break out sessions with WAM NY Steering Committee Members.

What is the ACCION USA Microfinance Council?

Created in the Fall of 2007, the New York-based ACCION USA Microfinance Council is a group of professionals that contributes to the sustainability of ACCION USA by promoting microfinance among other professionals, providing strategic advice and assistance in fundraising activities.
 
Our mission is to develop and maintain a forum of professionals who volunteer to advocate for domestic microfinance and enhance the effectiveness of ACCION USA.
2012 Council Leadership Opportunities
 
Serving in a leadership position is the best and most rewarding way to be more involved with the Council, and to learn about  microfinance.  In 2012 we have the following positions available: 
  • Chair
  • Vice Chair (at-large)
  • Vice Chair (business consulting)
  • Event Planning & Fundraising Committee Chair
  • Public Policy Committee Chair
  • Marketing & Communications Committee Chair
You do not need to attend the information session to be eligible to apply for any of the positions.

*Ticket revenue is used to pay for speaker transportation and event-related costs. The organizers are all unpaid volunteers.
