If you're interested in what's hot in the NYC tech/startup scene, check out DigitalDumbo events in Brooklyn.
Happy networking!

You're Invited to Digital DUMBO: Spring Forward! Sponsored by NYI on March 31st

Remember that moment about a month and a half ago when you were making your way across the frozen tundra to another Digital DUMBO, thinking "If only I had Tiger Blood, I would be so much warmer." Well, that moment has arrived! Spring weather is here and now we are all suddenly feeling as if we are made of Tiger Blood and ready to be in the company of New York's finest digital thought leaders. And yes, even we are attempting to capitalize on Mr. Sheen! After all, he is hiring a social media intern.

Digital DUMBO, in conjunction with infrastructure provider NYI, is proud to present Spring Forward, an evening whose only agenda is having a good time. There will be themed cocktails and commemorative t-shirts brought to you by Brooklyn-based designer Kayrock Screenprinting.

If NYI sounds familiar, that's because you probably know them for providing colocation, dedicated servers, managed services and other infrastructure support to the likes of Meetup and RollingStone.com. NYI is also the company you see at the top of the charts whenever there's a list of the best hosting and data center providers.

In addition to one-of-a-kind t-shirts, all Digital DUMBO attendees will also be entered into a special raffle for the chance to win cool tech gifts from Digital DUMBO's own Etsy. As always, the sound system will be spinnin' your favorite tracks and there will be a free beer and wine bar!

For press inquiries and general information, please email Andrew Zarick (Andrew@digitaldumbo.com) and Kaitlin Villanova (Kaitlin@digitaldumbo.com).

The small dinner setting will allow attendees to gain an in depth look at Teacher U and the exciting launch of the Relay School of Education. Education Reform is a topic on everyone's mind from the President to Business Leaders down to the individual parents and children affected by the performance of the nation's school system and we are grateful to have leaders at the forefront of this innovative organization to discuss the exciting things happening in education.

Women Advancing Microfinance members-only event Th Mar 10

If you're a woman interested in microfinance, I recommend joining Women Advancing Microfinance - the NY Chapter has some great events.  The Microfinance Club of New York also has cool stuff going on, and also (obviously) includes men, but I think the fact that WAM has some smaller group events is nice because you can really get to know people at a 20-40 person event as opposed to a 200 person event.  (Then again, I haven't been to any MFCNY ones so I can't compare, but this is based on what I heard from a friend who's in both.)

Anyway, WAM members get access to some cool things like this site visit below. Check it out!
