Intrapreneurship Conference in Paris, December 13, 2012



Intrapreneurship is a rising concept that tries to gather the natural objective of any organisation in the 21st century to be more innovative with the often non-tapped energy dug into any would-be entrepreneurs. Intrapreneurship create a framework where the latter is granted some freedom to try out a project of his/her own, the benefit being shared with the employer in the case of a succesful experimentation.
The Intrapreneurship Conference, on December 13th (10 am to 6 pm GMT), aims to cover this growing trends in corporations’ life, which adresses both the need of companies to produce more innovations and the will of talented people to find achievement opportunities.

How To Choose A Legal Structure, the 3rd class in the Social Innovators Collective workshop series, Building High Impact Nonprofits and Social Enterprises, takes place on Tuesday, October 30th at General Assembly. The series is designed for startup and emerging changemakers and professionals interested in building impact-driven organizations.
How To Choose A Legal Structure
There are few firms that understand the range of legal structures available for social enterprises and nonprofit organizations like Perlman and Perlman, LLP. This workshop demystifies legal structures such as 501(c)(3), L3C, benefit corporations, B Corp certification, LLCs, and other corporate entities. You will leave this session with a greater knowledge of corporate structures so you can make informed choices in establishing your social enterprise or nonprofit.

• Understand the various corporate structures available to social entrepreneurs, including the benefits and drawbacks of selecting a particular structure.
• Learn about the steps to establish a new corporate entity, and your legal obligations as you build your social enterprise or nonprofit.
• Learn about the contracts and agreements you may encounter in your first year of running a social enterprise organization.
• Find out about legal resources available to nonprofit organizations and social enterprises.
Carly Leinheiser, Esq. is an associate at Perlman and Perlman, New York’s leading firm in social enterprise and nonprofit law, where she focuses on social enterprise, hybrids, and other non-traditional legal structures. Her practice also includes litigation and state and federal regulatory and corporate matters. Prior to joining Perlman and Perlman, she practiced commercial litigation, and previously worked as a Law Fellow with  the New Jersey Attorney General’s Charities Registration and Investigation Section. Before moving to New York for law school, Carly worked in development and managed fundraising events for two well-regarded social service nonprofits in Portland, Oregon.

2012 Social Enterprise Bootcamp

The 2012 Social Enteprise Boot Camp is a hands-on event facilitated by leading practitioners and faculty from three of New York's top schools: Columbia SIPA, NYU Wagner and our new partner, SVA Design for Social Innovation.  The Boot Camp is a series of participatory, practical workshops where current and aspiring social entrepreneurs will learn how to sharpen the tools and build the relationships they need to get social ventures off the ground.

What to expect:
  • Network: 160 entrepreneurs and 15+ facilitators from various organizations, all leaders in their respective fields, will attend this year's Boot Camp
  • Engage: Workshops have been designed for social entrepreneurs with a clear idea of what they want to build, as well as those who are still in the process of defining their venture ideas
