The Society of Enlightened Entrepreneurs, an established NYC social entrepreneurial networking venture (think happy hours for top level executives & entrepreneurs) is looking for a intern to take on a supervisorial and program management role.  The organization has put together some pretty awesome networking events (next one is at the Irish Embassy) and there's a lot of opportunity to creatively meet goals.

Program Management Job Description

Internship Scope: The Program Management intern assists the Founder with program oversight and implementation activities and supervises other volunteer staff.  We are looking for a self-motivated intern to both coordinate the team organizing networking events and spearhead the venture's expansion into a number of revenue generating projects.  Acting as the conduit between the executive level planners and the program staff, you should feel comfortable managing a team, delegating tasks, and independently executing strategy.  The ideal candidate for this position is someone with a BA or MA in program management or administration, or someone who is completing a degree of study in a related area. The intern will gain experience in executive level program  administration and also have a role in the strategic long-term planning of the venture.

Members offer distinctive products and services in diverse industries ranging from health care and consulting to financial services and retail. Membership in the Society of Enlightened Entrepreneurs provides access to seasonal B-B networking engagements and cocktail parties, newsletters, workshops, speakers series, merchandise, social networking, and a growing web presence.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with budget preparation/management;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of management tools to ensure all programmatic activities proposed are being accurately implemented;
  • Assist in developing systems for staff activity tracking and monitoring, as necessary;
  • Supervise other volunteer and support staff to ensure projects come to timely completion;
  • Lead in implementing program activities, on occasion, that are not already assigned to program staff;
  • Assist with the implementation of new initiatives as they are funded
  • Assist with proposal writing and/or promotional literature, as needed;
  • Make recommendations for program growth and development; and
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • BA or MA preferred;
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and a self-starter;
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft office; and
  • Fluent in English
  • An ability to converse easily in a professional setting and a sense of humor

This position reports to the Founder and Head of the Society.
