Are you a fan of ACCION? Want to learn more about Microfinance and meet cool people in NYC? Check out these upcoming July 2012 events.
Wednesday, July 18, 6:30 to 8:30 pm at By Brooklyn
Come join Accion and the Microfinance Council as we support By Brooklyn
(261 Smith Street, between Degraw & Douglass, Brooklyn), a store
that sells items from three different Accion entrepreneurs: Morris Kitchen, Raaka Chocolate, and Perch Designs.
Everyone is encouraged to commit to buying at least one item in an
effort to support Brooklyn businesses and the local economy.
After the cash mob, join us for happy hour at Bar Great Harry across the street.

Thursday, July 26, 6:30 to 8:30 pm (TBD) at Cheryl's Global Soul
Thank
you to everyone who came to the first Microfinance Book Club meeting!
We did a nice round of introductions, talked about what drew us to the
industry, and discussed topics we are interested in reading about.
We voted unanimously on our first book, Portfolios of the Poor: How the World's Poor Live on $2 a Day, by Daryl Collins, Jonathan Morduch, Stuart Rutherford, Orlanda Ruthven. We'll be meeting at Cheryl's Global Soul (236 Underhill Avenue, near Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn) in late July to discuss.
Spread the word and join with your friends!
