We are delighted to invite you to our Second Annual Scholarship Fundraiser on Thursday, October 6th 2011. This year we are raising funds for women microfinance practitioners from the Global South to attend specialized training programs and conferences to strengthen their skills and leadership opportunities.
WAM-NY's focus on capacity building of women microfinance practitioners stems from the belief that a sector in which the majority of clients are women will benefit significantly from women's leadership on how best to serve female clients' needs. We believe that specialized training will facilitate women's transition from mid- to senior-level positions within microfinance institutions.
Join us for an evening of revelry over wine tasting, food, and silent auction/raffle prizes. As a benefit to our members, we are offering an early bird special offer of $65 if you buy your ticket before September 15. Do not miss this special event! |

Through funds raised last year, FIVE women from the following organizations attended either the Small Enterprise Education and Promotion (SEEP) Network Annual Conference or a Sustainable Microenterprise and Development Program (SMDP) training: Fonkoze (Haiti), CEOSS (Egypt), K-MET (Kenya), Women's Trust (Ghana) and FECECAV (Togo). 100% of the proceeds from the event will go towards the scholarship funds.
