3-15 Microfinance event

From the New York for Acumen group on Acumen Fund's online community:
-------------------------------

The Millennium Promise Young Professionals are co-hosting an event with the Microfinance Club of NY on March 15 at Columbia University.

What: Smart People, Food and Drink, and a Lively Debate about Microfinance.
Where: Columbia University - Uris Hall 142 - 3022 Broadway (@117th)
When: Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 6:30 PM
Cost: $10
Why:  Microfinance has been in the news a lot lately. Want to know how microfinance is (or is not) contributing to economic development? MPYP is co-hosting a panel event with the Microfinance Club of New York to get to the bottom of it.

Come hear Millennium Promise CEO John W. McArthur, Yale University economics professor Dean Karlan, Program Manager at BRAC USA Malik Rashid, and microfinance pioneer Roger Frank discuss and debate this timely issue.

Your $10 admission fee entitles you to a one-year membership to the Microfinance Club of NY, including free admission to their events all year (a $20 value).

The event is co-hosted by the Microfinance Club of New York and Millennium Promise, with a reception to follow.

Hope to see you there!
