If you haven't been to a Green Drinks event all year, this is the one to attend!
Every December, Green Drinks partners with outstanding individuals and groups to bring into focus issues of environmental significance, while inspiring people to make a difference in our world.
This year we invited David de Rothschild from The Plastiki Voyage, to engage, inspire and enlighten the NYC Green Community and beyond, about the complex issue of plastics in the ocean and how we can take action for positive change.
The Plastiki is a 60ft catamaran made from 12,500 plastic bottles, which sailed from San Francisco, 8000 miles across the Pacific to Sydney, Australia, to raise awareness about the Great Pacific Garbage Patches.
The event will benefit Sculpt The Future Foundation and The Algalita Marine Research Foundation.
Pick up some great holiday gifts while supporting ocean causes! The silent auction will feature a variety of eco-friendly experiences and products including an IWC Spitfire Pilot's Watch UTC; one month of health coaching by the Natural Kitchen Cooking School; a 2-hour sail aboard the Schooner Adirondack, Ella Vickers Totebags from the Recycled Sailcloth Collection, Chic recycled plastic fiber clothing from Restore Clothing; and Nau Flip Scarf and Fluent Tote, Flying Trapeze Classes, Sea Voices book by Duffy Healy, Scuba Certification Course by Village Divers and an eco vacation in Tulum to name a few.
Music by DJ Ebenezer Bond and DJ Cassette Nova, Silent Auction benefit, fair trade chocolate in our Chocolate Room, a fun night with hundreds of your favorite fellow green-minded New Yorkers.... fun to be had indeed. This is not a fancy party but rather, eco chic!

After college, I attended a lot of networking events in NYC as part of my job search. Now that I have a job, I still like to share what I’ve learn about great events. I think you'll agree that the "right events get you the right jobs," so I hope this blog is helpful. Email me if you know about a cool networking even: I’m kbierce (at) gmail dot com. Although I can’t attend everything, I love learning more about what’s new. A calendar of NYC events is at the bottom of this page.
This blog is about how the right networking events can help you find the right job (or jobs!) for you.
