We have embarked on our third year of Tagai. To celebrate this success and look towards the future, we will be hosting a 3rd birthday party on Wednesday, November 16th at the TriBeCa Grand. Please join us by buying tickets here. If you can’t join but would like to support our efforts, we really appreciate it and you can do so here.
When Tyler and I started this program, we sought to help international students in New York better acclimate to life in the United States while providing a unique global perspective for young professionals.
Both of us have been incredibly fortunate to befriend people from many countries, all of whom have added fresh perspectives and wonderful ideals to our lives. We are committed to bringing this same experience to more and more of our peers and fellow New York citizens.
For students we provide positive role models, events that spark curiosity in new areas and help them feel welcome in wider New York City, not just their neighborhood.
For mentors, we facilitate relationships with people they never would have met from places they might know nothing about. We also help them feel welcome in wider New York City, not just their neighborhood.
Together, we all become closer and better understand diverse perspectives, cultures, and experiences.
We have made a lot of strides since last year including:
· Grown our program to the following:
o 2 schools
o 42 Mentors
o 45 Students
o 14 Countries represented
· Submitted our 501c3 application
· Partnered with New York Needs You to create a college preparation curriculum within Tagai
· Recruited a truly outstanding advisory board and executive team
All that we have accomplished is thanks to all of the amazing support that we’ve received from all of you. We hope you will continue to support our efforts as we grow our program and further our mission.
