Acumen Fund fall fundraiser meeting tonight, September 27

Just saw this on the Acumen Fund community site - helping plan this fundraiser would be a great way to get involved with New York for Acumen!

In case you didn't already know, Acumen Fund is: "a non-profit global venture fund that uses entrepreneurial approaches to solve the problems of global poverty. We seek to prove that small amounts of philanthropic capital, combined with large doses of business acumen, can build thriving enterprises that serve vast numbers of the poor. Our investments focus on delivering affordable, critical goods and services – like health, water, housing and energy – through innovative, market-oriented approaches."

Happy volunteering,

Katharine

Dear NYfA Volunteers,

Please join us next Monday, September 27th for our first fall fundraiser planning meeting.

We are envisioning an event which celebrates South Asia - culture, food, music, etc. We'd love for the event to have a silent auction, a renowned DJ and great food for an evening that celebrates Acumen's successes in
the region.

As many of you know, our last fundraiser - *spark, which took place in May - raised $25,000 for Acumen Fund and was a resounding success thanks to our dedicated and exceptional volunteers.

So, if you would like a hands-on role with Acumen Fund, please join us on Monday! We'll be creating committees to oversee Sponsorship, Marketing, PR, Budgeting, Venue, Day-Of Logistics, Design, and Ticket Sales.

Please email us at newyorkforacumen@gmail.com to let us know if you plan on attending, or if you'd like to help us but are unable to attend.

Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you tonight!
