Hello world!
I am a recent graduate of the University of Chicago currently seeking full-time opportunities in consulting and business development in New York City. I’ve been going to networking events off and on since the middle of college, and I’m a bit of a networking event junkie. I like to share what I learn about networking and job-hunting strategies with my classmates and colleagues, so hopefully this blog will be helpful to you – whether you’re a seasoned executive, new college graduate, or someone going back to the job market after a career break and want to know what’s out there. All my opinions are my own and if I ever get sponsored to cover an event, I will say so for full disclosure.
Feel free to email me if you know about a cool networking event – I’m kbierce AT gmail dot com. Although I can’t attend everything, I love learning more about what’s new in NYC (and Boston, Chicago, and Washington, DC where I have friends, etc.). Also email me or if you’re hosting an event and want my advice on publicity, especially reaching the 18-25 demographic. You can also find me on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/in/kbierce and on Twitter at @kbierce.
Although the purpose of this blog is to be about networking events, I plan to occasionally cover fun stuff or non-career-specific events that keep me sane. In my free time, I work out at the nearest gym, do yoga, meditate, enjoy concerts and salsa dancing, sing with the Young New Yorkers’ Chorus, and volunteer with Acumen Fund.
After college, I attended a lot of networking events in NYC as part of my job search. Now that I have a job, I still like to share what I’ve learn about great events. I think you'll agree that the "right events get you the right jobs," so I hope this blog is helpful. Email me if you know about a cool networking even: I’m kbierce (at) gmail dot com. Although I can’t attend everything, I love learning more about what’s new. A calendar of NYC events is at the bottom of this page.
This blog is about how the right networking events can help you find the right job (or jobs!) for you.
