Fun and Fundraising event for Burma on Sat. Oct. 16

One of the people (Elena Tchainikova) I met at a networking event for www.catchafire.org is hosting this event on Saturday night.  She's a social entrepreneur at www.network355.org and is doing some great work towards issues in Burma.
Happy networking!

Join us for an evening of fun and fundraising at the famed Friar’s Club, NYC on October 16th, 2010 from 7PM to 10PM. Hobnob with celebrities, politicians and philanthropists while enjoying great music by DJChkalov, live performance by Sarina- the Violin Diva, Premium Open Bar, and Italian and Burmese delicacies. For an encore, bid in a silent auction that will help our fellow human beings in Burma in the true spirit of the Friar’s motto: Prae Omnia Fraternitas – Latin for "Before all, brotherhood." Dress-code: Semi-formal attire.

This chic benefit is a part of 2-Day Burma Raise Awareness Event, organized by Free Burma Alliance, Network 355  and Amnesty International to bring world’s attention to human rights violations in Eastern Burma, where more than 3.5 million people have been displaced.
With the purchase of a ticket to the fundraiser, you will get access to the FBA-Amnesty International Inaugural Conference and a cocktail reception to be held on the next day.
