Get Recruited!
DATE: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2010 — TIME: 12:00 p.m. EST

In today's market, you have to take unconventional steps if you want to be successful in your career. While millions of people are searching for work, you have to position yourself to Get Recruited - everyone applies for jobs, but truly talented individuals brand themselves so that recruiters come looking for them. In this Jam Session, 85 Broads member Adrienne Graham will share how to shift from the old school methods of searching for a job to leverage networking, social media, and powerful branding strategies and attract recruiter attention. Adrienne will discuss ways that you can position yourself as a Subject Matter Expert and carve out a space in your niche so you will become a recruiter “magnet.”

About the Speaker:

Adrienne Graham is CEO of Hues Consulting & Management Inc, an international diversity recruitment consulting firm, and the CEO &  Founder of Empower Me! Test Often and Fail Fast:  The Art of Rapid Deployment to Quickstart Your Business
DATE: THURSDAY, November 4, 2010 — TIME: 12:00 p.m. EST
Many business experts will tell you to spend months perfecting your business plan before going to market. 85 Broads member Pamela Slim suggests the opposite: launch many small tests of real products and services in the real market in order to see if your business idea has viability. In this session, participants will learn how to be "scrappy without being sloppy."

About the Speaker:
Pamela Slim is a seasoned coach and writer who helps frustrated employees in corporate jobs break out and start their own business. Her award-winning book Escape from Cubicle Nation: From Corporate Prisoner to Thriving Entrepreneur sprang from her popular blog of the same name. A former corporate manager and entrepreneur herself for more than 14 years, she deeply understands the questions and concerns faced by first-time entrepreneurs.
